Dr The Honourable Navinchandra Ramgoolam

Dr The Honourable Navinchandra Ramgoolam is Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius.

The Prime Minister is the head of the Government. He presides over the Cabinet of Ministers which advises the President of the Republic and is collectively responsible to the National Assembly for any advice given and for all action done by or under the authority of any Minister in the execution of his office.

The Prime Minister’s portfolio includes, inter-alia, the following:

  • Defence, Law and Order
  • Civil Status, Citizenship
  • Civil Service and Administrative Reforms
  • Electoral Commissions and Electoral Affairs
  • Government Information Services
  • Meteorological Services
  • Mauritius Oceanography Institute
